Since it is getting closer to Halloween I figured to do some photos that in theme of the holiday. Now  originally Halloween was a Celtic celebration that was actually on November 1st but was called All Saint's Day. The tern Halloween comes from the term All Hallows Eve, which can translate into the eve of All Saints Day. So this was a big holiday for the people back then, there is legend stating that people would dress up to scare the evil spirits away so that their loved ones who had passed could transfer on into the afterlife.  So in the spirit I found some pictures with a Halloween theme.

This picture kid of creeps me out, but its a good way to show the way people see, what use to be a strictly religious holiday, into something scary and fun.

This, I believe, is a good use of your enviroment. The way the artisit took the picture is by using the theme of the pumpkin and leaves to give it a kind of, what I think, a Sleepy Hallow look. Hope you enjoy!

I found this photography blog where they hold contests and give advice and tips of photo taking. click here to view webpage The blog held a contest for "best picture of 2008" I took a look and there were a lot of great pictures, here a few that I thought were just truly amazing.

These are African flowers, I love the lighting and technique the artist used.

This photo was taken in Malaysia, it has a calm and cool feeling to the picture and the way the model looks peaceful I think is just a work of art in itself.

The stillness of the water really takes this picture to a whole other level. The snow and clear skies really makes this picture take your breath away.

Philosophy: The rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct.

History: A continuous, systematic narrative of past events as relating to a particular people, country, period, person, etc., usually written as a chronological account.

Photography: The process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy.

The study of the above subjects is my main goal for this project, by the end of the semester a complete understanding of the terms, history and reasoning is my goal.

I rhought this picture was very interesting, the way the focus is on the models face and how everything in the background is a little blurry.

Abberations: Causes completely blurred images. There are six types of aberrations: spherical, coma, astigmatism, curvature of field, distortion and chromatic.
